This is a fabulous red and cream enamelled butterfy with guilded head and antenna. It was made by the famous Norwegian silversmith Askel Holmsen in circa 1940.  The quality and condition are excellant. A very wearable piece of jewelry and when worn the highlight of attention!

It weighs 8.7 gramms.

The butterfly brooch measures the following:

It is larger than average and has a wing span of 4.3 cm. ~ 1.75 ins.

From the top of the antenna to the bottom of the wing it is 1.9 cm. ~ 0.75 ins.
